About Me
I am an artist, a teacher and a gardener.
I studied textiles at Goldsmiths College and went on to The Central School of Art and Design to complete an MA in 1975. I also completed a teaching qualification.
After marriage and the birth of my first child I returned to Jersey, Channel Isles where I have lived ever since.
As my family grew and became independent I gave up my full-time teaching position and was employed to run a beautiful walled garden at one of Jersey’s manor houses.
This gave me time and inspiration to resume my creative interests.
I began by making beaded necklaces, which were well received and soon began work on a series of embroideries, inspired by my interest in gardening.
My work quickly developed in two related directions. The embroidered pictures became more decorative and jewel-like. Whilst I began to experiment with the use of fine fabrics, particularly vintage lace in making textile jewellery.
