My embroidered pictures usually have a garden theme. They are often worked as a background of lace fragments, painted and pieced together by hand.
Foreground detail includes more lace, shaped in relief, beading and hand embroidery in silk and metallic threads.


The embroideries have all been professionally framed, under glass and this has made them very difficult to photograph well.
In order to avoid reflection they have been photographed from the side and in strong outdoor light which has bleached out some of the colour.
The details give a better idea of the colour but do not adequately show the intricate hand embroidery.
