Jewellery
As an experienced artist I am always experimenting with new ideas and techniques. But the use of vintage materials, especially lace is becoming a trademark. I like to surprise and my textile jewellery often features an unusual colour clash or an unexpected variation in pattern to challenge and intrigue.
My work is characterised by attention to detail, originality and quality of craftsmanship.
A selection of my textile jewellery is permanently on display at The Harbour Gallery, Jersey.
I exhibit at Jersey’s Textile Showcase and Artisan Showcase annually.
I have won several awards for my use of vintage materials and the quality of my textile work, most recently The Award for Texture, at Jersey's Textile Showcase 2011.
In recent years my work has appeared in several UK magazines. Workbox Magazine has published six articles concentrating on different aspects of my work and in 2008 Craft and Design Magazine interviewed me and published a major article. A second article featuring The David-Gainsbouough Roberts jackets was published in 2009.
I exhibited at The Fashion and Embroidery Show, Harrogate in 2006 and took part in The Coast2Coast Exhibition at Craft in the Bay, Cardiff during 2008.
During 2009 I exhibited at Bromham Mill, Bedford and at The Creative Stitches and Hobbycrafts Show, Westpoint, Exeter, where I demonstrated some of the techniques I use to make my textile jewellery.
Last year I exhibited at The British Craft Trade Fair, Harrogate in April and I demonstrated some of my textile jewellery techniques at Creative Stitches, Exeter in September and at The Knitting and Stitching Show, London in October.
